Attorney Brown grew up in two locations, New Orleans and Klotzville, Louisiana, a small town about 40 miles southwest of New Orleans, Louisiana. She is the third child of a sibling group of six. The first to attend and complete her post-secondary education among her siblings; she was taught very early in life by her loving mother, the importance of attaining a college education.
After graduating from Grace King High School in Louisiana, Mrs. Brown immediately enrolled in Grambling State University. In 1988, she graduated with honors from Grambling with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Attorney Brown knew that in order to command a competitive salary and marketability in this career she needed to further her education.
Attorney Brown applied and was accepted into Florida State University’s Master’s of Social Work accelerated program in the Spring of 1990. There she was able to hone in on her social work skills and earned her Master’s of Social Work Degree, again graduating at the top of her class in 1991.
Mrs. Brown’s first career choice, Social Worker, lasted for eight years, before she decided a career change was imperative to reach one of her long-term goals in life, becoming an attorney and Judgeship. While working as a social worker with the Department of Human Resources, Mrs. Brown became a licensed social worker and had the opportunity to work with other caring professionals. We worked together as a team to provide excellent services to some of the most broken families in the Mobile area.
She was accepted and enrolled at Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 1996. Once again she graduated with honors in May 1999 and sat for the Alabama State Bar exam in July 1999. She was given the jaw dropping news, while carrying her “miracle child” that she had passed the Alabama State Bar examination that August. She was admitted to practice law in the State of Alabama in September 1999.
Attorney Brown has been licensed to practice law for over fifteen years and has practice in the area of family and criminal law in Mobile, Alabama and the surrounding counties including Washington, Clarke, Baldwin, Escambia, Conecuh and Dale County.
If Attorney Brown can be candid with you, she will tell you that her life story is truly a celebration and testament of her courageousness, tenaciousness, perseverance and Faith in God to do what man said could not be done. Attorney Brown has stood and continues to stand on the Word of God in Proverbs 11:3, “The integrity of the upright shall guide them.” Mrs. Brown is married and has two sons. She is family oriented and close to her siblings and recently blessed with a new grand daughter, Princess Alexis.
